Summer’s fast approaching, and the warmer the days get, the more we think about heading out on adventures! No sunny season adventure is complete, however, without a perfect summer dress. This week’s new items give you a lot of options for that special piece, for both your daytime trips and evening escapades. We’d love to take a scooter down the French Riviera, or some idyllic country road somewhere far away, while wearing this lovely piece. We’re back from vacation and more than happy to announce that new items are up on the Ukay Manila store! There’s something else to be excited about other than the new dresses, skirts and tops, but let’s talk about the clothes first. This collection has a lot of mid-sized dresses, ranging from the classic-looking to the incredibly loud. This Doves and Rainbows Dress, for example, is a burst of graphics and color just waiting to be worn.

Out of the many ways to wear this piece, one of our favorites has to be hippie-chic. To pull off the look, start off with a pair of round shades, just like what Penny Lane (Kate Hudson) wore in Almost Famous. Accessorize sparingly, since the dress is already pretty lively; a small tasseled bag works beautifully. Wrap it all up with a cute pair of pumps, and you’re all set to paint the town psychedelically.

Hi girls! I’m hitting the beach from Sunday, February 27, until Thursday, March 3 for a much-needed vacation and tan. This will mean a couple of things for you lovely ladies:

1) New items will arrive on the store on March 7 (Monday). And since Ukay Manila’s anniversary is coming up soon, we’re holding a major exciting dress giveaway through our favorite fashion bloggers! I’ll reveal more details when I arrive.

2) Pending purchases have to be settled on or before Saturday, February 26, so I can ship them before I leave. Otherwise, your package will be shipped on March 4.

3) I’ll still be available on Facebook, Twitter, and email to respond to your questions and confirm your payment. However, I will not be able to send out clothes until I come back. Love Walks In shoes can still be sent while I’m away though, since I can coordinate with my supplier in my absence.

It’s officially a week after Valentine’s Day, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to stop going out, does it? We’ve got a ton of new items up on the store that are perfect for your upcoming social events. This French Town Dress, for example, has us imagining a lovely afternoon coffee at a cozy veranda. It looks and feels comfy enough for a laid-back get-together with a few old classmates, but pretty enough to catch the eye of a handsome stranger passing by. It’s best worn with warm pastels and light neutrals, but a dark blue blazer can add some wonderful contrast to the piece.

Ukay Manila has had a number of wonderful customers since March 2009, but the best customer we have is probably my mom. Like me, she feels at home in dresses, has an eye for color and interesting textures, and loves a good bargain. Last weekend, when I was taking photos of the new clothes, she took a look at the dresses and instantly bought two! I thought I’d post them here because they’re too pretty not to share.
