The Ukay Manila Store is an online vintage store run by Lauren Dado (of iambourgeois.com) and Liz Lanuzo (of projectvanity.i.ph). We sell statement ukay pieces that can instantly transform a drab outfit into something intriguing and expressive of the wearer’s unique personality. We’re always on the look-out for feminine, bohemian, preppy and edgy pieces that are versatile, wearable and thus great dirt-cheap investments for your wardrobe. We know you think that this is just fancy sales talk, but check out what we have – we believe our lovely clothes and our customers’ feedback speak for themselves.

However, we are aware that the Ukay Manila Store is just one of many that can be found online.This then begs the question: why us? What do we have that no one else has? Here’s what we honestly think:

1.) We’re passionate about fashion. We love dressing up, reading fashion magazines and blogs, experimenting, and most of all, sharing our sense of style to as many people as possible. No, we’re not just in for the money. We’re just happy to be able to buy unique clothes and know that people are wearing them. It’s the same happiness people feel when they paint something and somebody truly appreciates it.

2.) We update our inventory every week. Every Monday morning, we upload the week’s batch of new items onto the store. All our items are sourced from the most fashionable cities in the world – Tokyo, Seoul, Milan, Hong Kong – to assure you that you have the best and most updated selection of ukay finds. Of course, each item has already been washed, sanitized, and ironed before we put them on the store.

3.) Sales at the end of the month. We love sales, and we know you do! This is why we cut our prices back by as much as P150 every month. For ukay items, that’s a big mark down.

4.) We use a shopping cart system on our .com website. This means that your purchases are handled more efficiently. You get to see how many items you’ve bought plus the total amount so that you can easily keep track. Once you check out, you will receive a confirmation email which serves as invoice and provides info on payment options and courier details. Easy right? Saves you a lot of time and hassle sending PMs and text messages when you buy from a Multiply seller.

5.) Cheap shipping rates! We use Xend Express to send out your items. Shipping within Metro Manila starts at only P50 (one to four items) whereas other stores charge as much as P100 (with kickback lol). Shipping outside Metro Manila only entails an additional P30 (Luzon provinces, including Cainta) to P40 (Visayas and Mindanao). 6.) We provide mobile updates. Did you know that half of the weekly new arrivals usually sell within 6 hours of being published? We don’t want you to miss out whenever there are new arrivals or have any important announcements so we’re going to text you the hottest news about the store. 7.) You can find and reach us anywhere. We’re online most of the time (our real-life jobs are Internet-centric) so any inquiries are answered promptly. 8.) Detailed product photos and descriptions. Don’t you just hate it when you have to make do with a crappy photo of something you want to buy? When you have to guess if something is lined, or what kind of fabric the item is? Hate no more! We spend a lot of time taking pictures of our products front, back, sideways, and even macro to give you a clear idea of what you’re in for. We also write product descriptions and styling suggestions.

9.) Detailed measurements. A lot of online clothing stores demand you to blindly trust them about the sizing of their products which is why a lot of customers get disappointed when they see the item first hand. Well, we don’t want you to deal with that kind of hassle. We measure each item and provide you exact info about the bust,waist, hip, length etc. of the clothes so you’ll know straight off the bat if they’ll actually fit.

10.) Pretty inspiration boards. We give visual suggestions on how to wear what we sell, from accessories, to shoes, bags, and even makeup! Even if you’re not buying anything, you’ll still get valuable content from our site by giving you ideas on how to maximize some of the items you already own but don’t know how to wear.
